Nautilus Food & Drinks
Our cuisine is ‘Modern Australian’ and we maximize the use of local FNQ produce and appropriate European & Asian cooking influences as introduced to the restaurant (and Australia) by Mogens Bay Espensen in the early 80’s. Our Chefs pay attention to the fine details and innovation as our experience over time brings us back to a style that our customers are familiar with and enjoy. Our dishes have been developed around the natural flavours of the tropics, prepared & presented to compliment the Restaurant's Far North Queensland location & elegant dining status. An a la Carte menu, seven and five course Chefs Tasting Menu and Vegetarian options are offered. (Menus) Our wine list is extensive but we always recommend starting with a Nautilus Mango Daiquiri to really float you into the tropical mood.
We have established a relaxed dining atmosphere, a special ‘Nautilus feeling' that is totally in harmony with our diners' ‘holiday mode’.Our A la carte dishes are portioned to allow you to enjoy entrée, main and dessert.
The dishes on our 5 Course Menu are designed to satisfy a broad range of tastebuds offering an even split between land and sea. Wine matching is offered as an option.
Our degustation style 7 Course Tasting Menus provide a more sea dominated sampling of Nautilus classic dishes, with an opulent experience of flavours, textures and techniques. Wine matching is offered as an option.
They say it never hurts to look… at our “tropical” inspired dessert
Vegetarian Menu options, we are flexible and can accomodate other options for vegans, vegetarians and special dietary requirements with some notice.
With access to two cellars, Nautilus Restaurant`s wine list is extensive and possibly the largest in Port Douglas.
